Unto Us a Child is Born…

My heart is so so so heavy as I type this out. Fun Fact: about 4 million babies are born each year within the United States. In 2010, 41% of couples were unmarried when their child was born. That kills my heart. Don’t get me wrong, I believe having children is a living miracle. But as being a 20 year old college student, it seems that my viewpoint on getting pregnant is different from the majority.

Today I was scrolling through my Facebook feed…when I saw ultrasound after ultrasound after ultrasound. Some are married, some are engaged, some in a new relationship. If you’re married, go for it. Have kids. I applause you. But what about the kids who will grow up without an active parental role in their life? Without a mom, or without a daddy. Those are the children I cry for, because I was blessed with two parents that have shown me only love and compassion. I could never imagine having one without the other.

Okay, I get it. “It was an accident”….I will never fall for that. Becoming pregnant is never an accident; everyone knows the result of sex. If you aren’t responsible, can’t afford to pay your rent, can’t afford to buy yourself food, can’t afford to pay for your car…then what makes you think having a child to care for 24/7 will help your case? When you become physically active with your significant other, you know one of the possible outcomes. Seriously, be responsible for your actions.

I love kids. Trust me, I’m not bashing on people who have them. High five to you. But to those who are irresponsible, please think about your actions. Is a child what you really want? Was that your goal? Several people I’ve talked to have told me that having their child was the best thing that could have happened to them.

I love you all. Seriously, I do.
It might not be my place to even talk about this subject, who knows (says the girl who’s never been kissed).

In the past, we have discussed 10 Ways A Good Woman Will Make You A Better Man, but what I think often goes overlooked is that a woman like this won’t just be with any schmuck. If you want a woman who is genuinely special, you should be treating her that way.

1. Make her feel beautiful, every day.

This one seems obvious. Internet Romeos everywhere are reading this going “Hey man, I call girls beautiful every day!” I don’t mean just telling a woman she’s beautiful – any guy can do that. I mean make her deeply feel, in her heart, that you think she is the most heart-wrenchingly beautiful woman you’ve ever laid your eyes on.

Women are not often as confident as they come across. You need to reinforce her, no matter what. It doesn’t matter if she just got stung by a bee and her…
